Space Labyrinth!
A downloadable game
Space Labyrinth! is a retro-style arcade maze shooter game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and compatible systems. The game ROM can be played in both emulators and on original hardware using a flashcart or other programmable device.
This game uses SRAM to save high scores, game options, and settings. Emulators will generate a ".sav" file alongside the ROM.
Scenario
The year is 299X. You are the leader of a research station in the far reaches of the alpha quadrant. The Bot army and their alien specimens have invaded and taken your friends hostage. With a photon phaser in hand, and a whole lot of guts, you set out on a deadly rescue mission and kick the Bots back to space... or die trying!

Gameplay
Objective
On each level, you must rescue each survivor and get to the exit before the timer runs out. Watch out for enemies and other obstacles as you navigate the winding maze. No two levels are alike, so you'll always be on your toes
As you progress and gain a higher score, the difficulty increases. UFO enemies will spawn after level 10, and Bots will randomly spawn after level 30. Every 4 levels has a special obstacle or arrangement. The game continues indefinitely until you lose all of your lives. Can you get a high score?
Enemies
The Bots
- Robo-grunt — walk slowly to your last location; not terribly bright
- Cyborg — don't move often, but they can fire at you fast
- Super-Cyborg — Cyborg's faster and meaner big brother
- Sentry — mini-tanks constantly on the move and fire if you are in their line of sight
All Bots explode when destroyed. Don't get caught in the blast!
The Aliens
- Drone — weak and easily defeated, but they might run into you when you're not looking
- Heidi — these somewhat-bashful creatures like to turn invisible unless they are in your line of sight
- Roswell — the newest, and most powerful, of the alien specimens
- UFO — fast moving, unpredictable, AND spawn randomly! Only appear after level 10
All aliens, except for the UFO, drop puddles of corrosive acid blood when destroyed. A few shots of your phaser will clean them up.
Props and Obstacles
In addition to pesky enemies, there are other props and obstacles you should keep an eye out.
- Alien egg — after a while will hatch into a drone. Best to shoot them before they hatch
- Computer — exerts control over any kind of Bot. Destroying it will destroy all Bots in the level
- Factory — generates a new Bot every so often. Watch for a growing red circle in the level. Destroying the factory will stop enemy spawning
- Electrodes — flashing concentrated beams of energy that'll get in your way. A few shots from your phaser will take care of them
- Shocker — will give your feet a nasty jolt. Cycles between On and Off states
- Ghost Walls — disappearing walls that always get in your way at the most inconvenient times. Indestructable
